Threshold Go-to-Market

About Amy Butler

Strategy, partnerships, and commercial leadership that drive growth.

I work with founders and executive teams to bring emerging technologies, new products, and business models to market. I help companies develop commercialization and business development strategies, build strategic partnerships, and secure enterprise customers and revenue.

I’ve spent much of my career working with companies introducing something new—often in markets where customers need to be educated, business models are still evolving, and the path to revenue isn’t straightforward. I understand what it takes to establish credibility, engage decision-makers, and turn early interest into commercial commitments.

My experience combines strategic advisory work with the ability to raise funds, win enterprise customers, and negotiate complex partnerships. I don’t just help companies figure out what they should do; I can work alongside their teams to make it happen.

I bring analytical rigor, creativity, and extensive experience in business development, sales, and relationship-building. Whether I’m developing a market-entry strategy, negotiating a partnership, or pursuing a new client opportunity, I look for opportunities that create value for everyone involved—and translate into business growth.

I founded Threshold Go-to-Market on a straightforward principle: a good strategy is only as valuable as the results it produces.

Experience & Results

I’ve held executive and operating roles across venture-backed startups, leading institutions, and established technology companies, with additional experience in management consulting.

My career includes Stanford University, McKinsey & Company, Intuit, NRDC, ArkeaBio, Cloverly, Grassroots Carbon, and other emerging technology ventures.

CEO, Cloverly
“Amy is an exceptionally creative and strategic thinker and leader. I worked for her for 6 years and she consistently approaches decisions with a highly effective and, I think, unique combination of analytical and creative skills. She is willing to tease out less obvious solutions to problems and, in doing so, can bring differing points of view to consensus. Her approach, together with her excellent marketing skills, have guided Stanford's businesses to great success. Amy has also been a supportive and caring boss and sets a collaborative tone for the groups she manages. It is a great pleasure to work for her.”
